BUEF is an economic foundation established in 2025 in Kyiv to operationalise the UK–Ukraine 100-Year Partnership Agreement, signed in January 2025.

We operate between governments, international financial institutions, private capital and business. We provide initiative structuring, entry-risk reduction, stakeholder coordination and the launch of cross-border projects.

Our story so far:
Core team established in London, plus an operational investment team in Ukraine.
Comprehensive mapping of UK–Ukraine cooperation stakeholders, with initial donor engagement and negotiations initiated.
Steering Committee and Board formed, with a Board Meeting convened including UK Government representatives.
Investment endowment fund process launched.
Joint pipeline of economic and investment projects initiated; first nine projects developed.
First public presentation at a major London investment forum.
Official introduction of BUEF at the Embassy of Ukraine in the UK.

These are goals, not achievements — the targets BUEF is working toward in 2026.
- Become the primary operational platform for UK–Ukraine economic activity.
- Deliver at least 10 joint economic projects and build a sustainable, expandable pipeline within Ukraine’s economic recovery.
- Promote export finance, blended finance and risk-mitigation instruments to unlock private-sector participation.
- Position BUEF as a credible, long-term partner for the UK and Ukrainian governments and international institutions.
- Increase the presence of British companies in Ukraine and Ukrainian companies in the UK.
We have a hundred-year partnership with Ukraine. I believe this reflects the natural sense of friendship between the British and Ukrainian people.
